DR. DEALIA ANDERSON

VETERINARIAN

Our pets are special members of the family, who show us unconditional love and companionship. I chose veterinary medicine so I could help people care for their four-legged family members. Originally from Toronto, I moved to the beautiful city of Guelph to complete my undergraduate degree in Animal Biology, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College. Studying at the OVC was a dream come true, and I especially enjoyed the study of feline medicine, preventive care and dentistry. While at the OVC I rescued my own feline family member named Summer. She was found injured on the side of the road and I had the opportunity to nurse her back to health – she is now full of cattitude and a wonderful addition to the family. Upon graduation I moved to Hamilton with my husband. In our spare time we like getting outside, visiting family and doing CrossFit together.

I was welcomed into the Martindale Animal Clinic family in 2016. I feel at home working alongside an amazing team committed to practicing medicine at the highest standard. An important part of life at Martindale is the continuing education we complete on a regular basis. We learn about new medicines, emerging diseases and nutritional support. With additional courses I became a certified Fear Free professional in 2019, which means that I consider every patient’s emotional well-being while they are in my care. I am always pleased when my patients are happy and excited to come to Martindale!
