Rabbit teeth continue to grow and rely on the grinding action of eating to help wear teeth down. Oral pain and dental disease is one of the most common causes of decreased appetite.

Muffin is 6 years old. He came to see us this week to have a dental cleaning done. Dental radiographs were taken to further determine the level of dental concerns. Little Muffin needed the teeth, including the important molars, trimmed.

As always, Muffin was a great patient. He recovered well from his anesthetic and was nibbling his hay.

Proper nutrition and weight management play a crucial role in preventing dental disease. Annual exams to assess a rabbit`s body condition and overall health is very important.
