Along with my colleagues, my love of animals goes back to early childhood. My family lived in the country where we were always surrounded by lots of pets and wildlife. Those early experiences gave me a profound appreciation for animals and nature. I have always wanted to work closely with animals, and have spent a long time working towards that goal.

In 2002 I graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology. I then moved out to Vancouver Island with my now-husband, Greg, and our cat Fozzy, where we lived in a log cabin in the woods. We spent our time hiking and camping and enjoying the natural beauty of the area, but school was calling and in 2004 I applied and was accepted to the Ontario Veterinary College. Hard as it was to leave the idyllic beauty of Vancouver Island, back across the country we went. Between long hours spent studying and working, Greg and I found time to get married in 2006. After I graduated in the spring of 2008 it was my husband’s turn to decide where we would live. We have always loved the Niagara region, and as he works in the wine industry it is the ideal place for us.

I began working at Martindale Animal Clinic soon after graduation and have been here ever since. I learn so much every day and love taking care of my patients. I have special interests in internal medicine, nutrition, senior health care, and emergency medicine.

When I'm not working I spend time with my two sons who have me wrapped around their little fingers. Our family also includes a yellow lab named Milo who is enjoying his senior years, and two crazy cats.

I love what I do and couldn't ask for a better place to work.  At Martindale Animal Clinic we take pride in practicing high-quality, patient-oriented, comprehensive medical care. I am very proud to be a member of this amazing team!
